Project Rosehill
The clients at Rosehill, a young professional couple, wanted to revamp their ground floor, staircases and landings, creating a striking, impactful hallway and with wow factor, whilst keeping a homely welcoming tone.
The clients had a love of the Parisian style with tall white walls and period features, yet also wanted to add some fun, bold and playful elements into the mix. We decided to introduce a classic yet bold marble chequerboard floor into their hallway and middle reception room, install classic traditional wall panelling, and marble fire surrounds, reinstate ornate cornices and ceiling roses, and then injected those areas with rich colours and patterns. We fully rewired the lighting and electrics, allowing us to create some beautiful lighting layers including up-lighters around the new crittall window.
The study was completely transformed using a jewel toned green, new cornices, new joinery with open and book display shelving, printer cupboards and new lighting.
The staircases also had a makeover. In order to elevate the main staircase, we removed the plain spindles and replaced them with metal spindles, re-stained the original curved handrail and introduced a sisal stair runner with binding. For the lower ground staircase, the clients were keen to go bold, so we embraced the low ceiling in the staircase and painted the walls and ceiling in a high gloss jet black paint, installed new step lights and a black leopard carpet.
